About the Brand

Jean-Louis Scherrer, after studying at the Paris Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, joined Dior in 1956. In 1962, he opened his own fashion house at 182 rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré in Paris.

In 1971, the brand opened a boutique on avenue Montaigne and was awarded Haute Couture status. It entered the world of fragrance in 1979 with the launch of Jean-Louis Scherrer. A year later, Jean-Louis Scherrer received the Dé d'or award from the Paris haute couture for his Russe collection.

The house operated in the field of Haute Couture until 2007, after which it focused on couture ready-to-wear and licensed products. Since 2011, the brand has been owned by JSB International, led by the Bensoussan family.
