Miyake Design Studio was founded by Issey Miyake in 1970. The first fragrance in the L'Eau d'Issey line was launched in 1992 and was created by perfumer Jacques Cavallier. Its concept is rooted in pure water as a source of life and inspiration.

The Issey Miyake Parfums collection was created in France through a collaboration between Miyake Design Studio and Beauté Prestige International, part of the Shiseido EMEA group.
