About the Brand

Moncler was founded in 1952 in the mountain village of Monestier-de-Clermont near Grenoble. The brand was established by René Ramillon and André Vincent, with its name being a shortened form of Monestier-de-Clermont.

Among the first products were quilted sleeping bags, a padded hooded cape and tents designed for workers at high altitudes.
