About the Brand

The history of Bourjois began in 1863. The brand was founded by French actor Joseph-Albert Ponsin, who prepared cosmetics for fellow actors. Its origins are linked to Parisian theatres and cabarets, for whose actresses the first blushers and perfumes were created.

As early as 1863, Bourjois developed its own process for producing baked make-up by mixing powder with water and baking it in moulds. The brand has been dedicated to perfumery since 1890. Coty completed its acquisition from Chanel on 1 April 2015.
