About the Brand

Nishane is a niche fragrance brand based in Istanbul. It was formally founded in September 2012 by Mert Güzel and Murat Katran. Its name means mark, sign, or symbol.

The brand's creative vision draws on the traditions, modern perspective, and cosmopolitan character of Istanbul. It regards perfumery as an art form and tells stories through its individual collections. When developing a new collection, the founders first determine the story and then select the perfumer and the desired fragrance notes. Developing a single fragrance takes at least 11 to 12 months.
