About the Brand

The LEGO Group was founded in 1932 by Ole Kirk Kristiansen. The name LEGO was derived from the Danish words "leg godt", meaning "play well". The company remains owned by the Kirk Kristiansen family, and the current form of the LEGO brick with its tube-based connection system was introduced in 1958.

The set thus continues the tradition of the LEGO brick design that has been in use since 1958.
