About the Brand

The LEGO Group was founded in 1932 by Ole Kirk Kristiansen. The name LEGO was formed by shortening the Danish words "leg godt", meaning "play well". The privately held company is headquartered in Billund, Denmark, and introduced the modern LEGO brick with its tube-based interlocking system in 1958.

The set builds on the LEGO brick design with the tube-based interlocking system that has been in use since 1958.
