About the Brand

The Chopard brand was founded by Louis-Ulysse Chopard in 1860. The original manufactory was established in Sonvilier, Switzerland, specialising in pocket watches and chronometers. In 1937 it moved to Geneva, and in 1963 it was taken over by Karl Scheufele III, who continued to develop it alongside his wife Karin.

In 2013, the brand launched the long-term Journey to Sustainable Luxury initiative, focused on social and environmental responsibility. Since July 2018, it has used exclusively ethical gold in the production of its luxury watches and jewellery.
