About the Brand

Salvatore Ferragamo founded his first company in Florence in 1927. It focused on the development, production and sale of women's footwear. The brand's first directly operated stores were opened in 1938 in Florence, Rome and London.

In 1965, the brand introduced its first collections of leather goods and women's clothing. The development of men's fashion and footwear followed from 1975 through the 1980s. Ferragamo Parfums was established in 1997 for the creation and distribution of fragrances; in 2001, the group acquired the entire stake in the company.
