About the brand

Penhaligon's was founded by William H. Penhaligon. In 1861, he opened his own perfumery and barbershop in Penzance. In 1870, he took over a barbershop on London's Jermyn Street and expanded it with his own shop.

William Penhaligon created the brand's first fragrance, Hammam Bouquet, in 1872. In 1903, the brand received its first Royal Warrant from Queen Alexandra. Since 2015, the fashion and beauty group Puig has been at its helm.

The fragrance Solaris thus comes from a brand whose history encompasses its own perfumery, the first original composition and a royal warrant.
