About the Brand
The brand was founded by William H. Penhaligon, a native of Penzance in Cornwall. In 1870 he took over a barbershop on London's Jermyn Street and expanded it with his own shopfront. Two years later he created his first fragrance, Hammam Bouquet, inspired by the atmosphere of the Hammam baths.
Penhaligon's received its first Royal Warrant in 1903 from Queen Alexandra. In 2015 the brand passed to Puig. The Coveted Duchess Rose subsequently became one of the four founding fragrances of the Portraits family in 2016.
You are choosing a fragrance from the founding quartet of Portraits by a brand whose history traces back to William Penhaligon's London shop of 1870.
