About the Brand

Penhaligon's lists 1870 as its founding year. The founder was William H. Penhaligon, who opened his own perfumery and barbershop in Penzance as early as 1861. He created the brand's first fragrance, Hammam Bouquet, in 1872. Penhaligon's received its first Royal Warrant in 1903 from Queen Alexandra and a second in 1956 from the Duke of Edinburgh.
