About the Brand

The history of Atkinsons began in 1799, when James Atkinson came to London and settled on Gerrard Street in Soho. In 1826, King George IV appointed the brand as the official perfumer to the English royal court. The business moved in 1832 to Old Bond Street in Mayfair and, following the arrival of James's brother Edward, adopted the name J. & E. Atkinson Ltd.

The brand received medals at exhibitions in London in 1862, Vienna in 1873 and Melbourne in 1875. Gold medals followed in Paris in 1878 and 1889, and a Grand Prix at the Paris exhibition in 1900. The manufacturer of the product is Atkinsons 1799 Ltd, based in London.
