Start the application at the roots and work through to the lengths; with longer hair, pay special attention to saturating the ends so that the shade looks uniform. Leave on according to the desired intensity – a shorter time usually means gentler toning, while a longer time results in a more pronounced and deeper mahogany. Then rinse the hair thoroughly until the water runs clear. For the best effect, it is pleasant to treat the hair to nourishing care after rinsing – it will reward you with softness and shine that looks beautiful on mahogany.

Maximum caution applies to chemically lightened hair and hair that has undergone a perm, where it is essential to wait at least 6–8 weeks before using the gloss, and it is then advisable to shorten the application time.
