About the Brand

Chanel was founded by Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel in 1910. She opened her first independent millinery shop, Chanel Modes, at 21 rue Cambon in Paris. In 1912, a boutique in Deauville followed, where from 1913 she sold sportswear made from jersey fabric.
