About the brand

The Ecoalf brand was founded by Javier Goyeneche in 2009, and its name was created from the names of his sons Alfred and Álvaro. The original vision was to reduce the wasteful use of natural resources and create recycled products with quality and design comparable to non-recycled products. The first collection was created in 2012, when the brand also opened its first flagship store in Madrid.

The Ecoalf Foundation was established in 2015 to support the Upcycling the Oceans project. Working in collaboration with the fishing industry, it collects marine waste and transforms it into yarns and textiles.

In 2018, Ecoalf became the first Spanish fashion company to receive B Corp certification. In 2022, it received the "Best for the World" award and ranked among the top 5% of companies in the environmental category. It completed its third B Corp certification in 2025 with a score of 122.7 points.

Ecoalf bases its approach on recycled resources, transparency and design focused on longer product lifespans.
