About the brand

Ecoalf was founded in 2009 by Javier Goyeneche, who derived the name from the names of his sons Alfred and Álvaro. The brand presented its first collection and flagship store in Madrid in 2012, after three years of research and development.

The Ecoalf Foundation was established in 2015 to support the Upcycling the Oceans project. More than 4,200 fishermen have joined the project, and over 1,450 tonnes of waste have been removed from the ocean as part of it. From every product sold from the Because There Is No Planet B collection, Ecoalf donates 10% to its foundation specifically for this project.

In 2018, Ecoalf became the first Spanish fashion company to receive B Corporation certification. A year later, it received PETA Vegan certification and the PETA Vegan Fashion Award.
