About the brand

Ecoalf was founded in 2009 by Javier Goyeneche, who serves as its president. The brand name is derived from the names of his sons Alfred and Álvaro. The first collection was launched in 2012 after three years of research and development.

The Ecoalf Foundation was established in 2015 to support the Upcycling the Oceans project. This project collaborates with the fishing industry to collect marine waste and transform it into yarns and textiles. Ecoalf assesses the carbon footprint of its products through lifecycle analysis and measurement based on the GHG Protocol.

The brand is certified under the Global Recycled Standard. In 2018, it became the first Spanish fashion company to receive B Corporation certification, and in 2019 it obtained PETA Vegan certification as well as the PETA Vegan Fashion Award.
