About the brand

Ecoalf was founded by Javier Goyeneche in 2009, and the brand name was derived from the names of his sons Alfred and Álvaro. The first collection was created in 2012, when the first flagship store in Madrid was also opened.

In 2015, the Ecoalf Foundation was established to support the Upcycling the Oceans project. This initiative focuses on collecting marine waste, sorting and recycling it, including converting PET plastic into polyester yarn. Ecoalf received B Corp certification in March 2018, becoming the first fashion company in Spain to do so. In 2022, it was named among B Corp's "Best for the World" and ranked in the top 5% in the environmental category.
