Ecoalf was founded by Javier Goyeneche in 2009. Its name was created from the names of the founder's sons, Alfred and Álvaro. In 2018, Ecoalf became the first Spanish fashion company to receive B Corp certification, and the brand is also certified under the Global Recycled Standard (GRS).
