About the Brand

The Ecoalf brand was founded by Javier Goyeneche in 2009. Its name was created by combining the names of the founder's sons, Alfred and Álvaro. The first collection followed in 2012 after three years of research and development.

In 2018, Ecoalf became the first Spanish fashion company to receive B Corporation certification. In 2022, B Corp recognised it as Best for the World and ranked it among the top 5% of companies in the environmental category. The brand is also certified under the Global Recycled Standard and in 2019 received PETA Vegan certification as well as the PETA Vegan Fashion Award.

The Ecoalf Foundation was established in 2015 to support the Upcycling the Oceans project. Its goal is to clean the oceans, make use of recovered marine waste, and raise awareness about pollution prevention. Within the project, sorted plastic waste is processed into flakes and pellets; recycled PET can then be transformed into polyester yarn.
