About the Brand

Ecoalf was founded by Javier Goyeneche in 2009. The brand's name and concept were inspired by the names of his sons Alfred and Álvaro. The original vision was to create recycled products with quality and design comparable to those made from non-recycled materials. The first collection followed in 2012 after three years of research and development; the brand states that it has developed more than 400 types of recycled fabrics.

The Ecoalf Foundation was established in 2015 to support the Upcycling the Oceans project. Its aim is to clean the oceans, reuse collected marine waste, and raise awareness of pollution. Sorted plastic waste is turned into flakes and pellets, among other things, and PET can be further processed into polyester yarn.

In 2018, Ecoalf became the first Spanish fashion company to receive B Corp certification. The brand underwent its third B Corp certification in 2025 with a score of 122.7 points. It is also certified under the Global Recycled Standard and in 2019 received PETA Vegan certification as well as the PETA Vegan Fashion Award.

Behind the Oregalf model stands a brand that develops recycled fabrics and supports a project focused on utilising collected marine waste.
