About the Brand

Ecoalf was founded by Javier Goyeneche in 2009. The brand name is derived from the names of his sons Alfred and Álvaro. The goal was to reduce the unsustainable consumption of natural resources through recycling and to create recycled products with quality and design comparable to non-recycled goods.

The first collection was presented in 2012 after three years of research and development, alongside the first flagship store in Madrid. In 2015, the Ecoalf Foundation was established to support the Upcycling the Oceans project, which focuses on removing and repurposing waste from the seas.

In 2018, Ecoalf became the first Spanish fashion company to receive B Corporation certification. In 2022, it was awarded B Corp Best for the World recognition, placing it among the top 5% of assessed companies in the environmental category. The brand underwent its third B Corp certification in 2025 with a score of 122.7 points.
