About the Brand

The first Tabac product, a soap for men, was launched in June 1951. The Original designation was added in October 1952, and the range expanded in 1959 to include an aftershave, a pre-electric shave preparation and a cologne. Beard care products in the Tabac Barber Shop at Home range followed in 2018.

The manufacturer Mäurer & Wirtz was founded by Michael Mäurer and Andreas August Wirtz in 1845 as a soap factory in Stolberg. The family business is now run by the fifth generation, and Tabac products continue to be manufactured in this town in the German Rhineland. The manufacturer complies with ISO 22716 and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) principles, with production processes monitored by independent auditors.
