About the Brand

Salvatore Ferragamo opened the Hollywood Boot Shop in Hollywood in 1923 and earned the nickname "shoemaker to the stars". In 1927, he founded his first company in Florence focused on the development, manufacture and sale of women's footwear. In his Florentine workshop, he combined local craft tradition with a production system inspired by American factories.

In 1937, he patented the first cork wedge heel. The Salvatore Ferragamo Museum was opened in Florence in 1995. Ferragamo Parfums was established in 1997 as a joint venture with Bulgari S.p.A.; in 2001, the group bought out its partner's entire stake.
