The Marc Jacobs brand was founded in New York in 1984. Its founder Marc Jacobs was born in the city in 1963 and graduated from Parsons School of Design in 1984. The brand's first store opened in 1997 in the SoHo neighbourhood of New York.

The original Daisy fragrance launched in 2007. Its name is a reference to Daisy Buchanan from the novel The Great Gatsby.

Daisy Love continues the Daisy fragrance line, whose original scent was introduced in 2007.
