About the Brand

Madame Grès opened her own fashion house in 1932 and renamed it Grès in 1942. She became renowned for draping silk jersey and cutting fabric directly on the model without the use of paper patterns.

She also expanded her work into perfumery, where she created the Cabochard and Cabotine lines. She was awarded the French Legion of Honour and served as president of the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne.
