Scent and Composition

Reasons was created by perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour and the fragrance was launched in 2024. The composition opens with cardamom, hazelnut, cinnamon and pink pepper. The heart blends patchouli, pine, cashmeran, amber, cypriol and davana. The base is built on benzoin, cistus, sandalwood and cedarwood, vetiver, myrrh, oakmoss, musks and palo santo.

The character of the composition is further defined by a double infusion. Bioethanol matures for six months in French oak barrels with a medium char level, custom-made for Amouage. The perfume concentrate is simultaneously infused for the same period with 5% small chips of Australian sandalwood. This is followed by a two-week maceration. The infusion patina is thus created by sandalwood and oak.

Packaging

This variant contains 100 ml of fragrance. The Essences collection bottle represented Amouage's first new flacon design in 15 years.

About the Brand

Amouage was founded in 1983 in the Sultanate of Oman by the Omani Albusaidi family. The brand's original concept was described as the "Gift of Kings." In its creations, it combines the Arabic perfumery tradition with the influences of Western perfumery.

The brand's production and visitor centre is located in Muscat. At the manufactory there, visitors can observe the individual stages of production, from the maceration of ingredients through filling to packaging.
