About the brand

Ecoalf was founded in 2009 by Javier Goyeneche, who also serves as its president. The name was inspired by the names of his sons Alfred and Álvaro. The original goal was to create recycled products with quality and design comparable to non-recycled products.

After three years of research and development, the brand launched its first collection in 2012 and opened its first flagship store in Madrid. The Ecoalf Foundation was established in 2015 to support the Upcycling the Oceans project, which works with the fishing industry to collect marine waste and transform it into yarns and fabrics.

In 2018, Ecoalf became the first Spanish fashion brand to be certified as a B Corporation. In 2022, it was listed among B Corp Best for the World and placed in the top 5% in the environmental category. The brand also declares a goal of achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.
