The brand was founded by PaedDr. Zbyněk Šedivý in 1994 in Krásná Lípa under the original name Nobela. In 2000, the company was renamed Nobilis Tilia; its Latin name references Krásná Lípa. Since 2004, it has been based in Vlčí Hora, where it began building an Aromatherapy Centre with an herb garden.

Nobilis Tilia has been producing functional aromatherapy cosmetics since 1994 and lists 100% pure essential oils as the main ingredient in its products.
