Lighting mahogany

Swietenia mahogany, also known by its Latin name Swietenia mahagoni or by its Czech names mahogany tree or simply mahogany, is a tropical tree native to Central and South America, especially the Caribbean and southern Florida. Today, due to its adaptability, this tree is cultivated in all tropical and subtropical regions of the world. The mahogany tree produces mahogany wood, which is characterised by its hardness, resistance to pests and deep reddish-brown colour. It is ideal for carving because it is relatively easy to work.
