About the Brand

Ecoalf was founded by Javier Goyeneche in 2009. The name and concept were inspired by the birth of his sons Alfred and Álvaro. The original mission was to create recycled products with quality and design comparable to those made from non-recycled materials. The first collection followed in 2012 after three years of research and development.

In 2015, the Ecoalf Foundation was established to support the Upcycling the Oceans project. This initiative works with the fishing industry to collect marine waste and transform it into yarn and textiles.

Ecoalf holds the Global Recycled Standard certification. Since March 2018, it has also been a certified B Corporation, and in 2022 it was recognised as a B Corp Best for the World in the environmental category.

Ecoalf thus backs its focus on recycled materials with certifications and a concrete project making use of collected marine waste.
