About the Brand

Ecoalf was founded in 2009 by Javier Goyeneche, who also serves as the brand's president. The name and concept were inspired by the birth of his sons Alfred and Álvaro. The original vision was to reduce the wasteful use of natural resources and create recycled products with quality and design comparable to non-recycled goods.

The brand launched its first collection and flagship store in Madrid in 2012, following three years of research and development. In 2015, the Ecoalf Foundation was established to support the Upcycling the Oceans project. In 2018, Ecoalf became the first fashion company from Spain to receive B Corporation certification. The brand is also certified under the Global Recycled Standard.

Since 2021, it has been producing sweatshirts from a blend of 50% recycled and 50% organic cotton. Part of its philosophy is zero-waste and circular processing, in which cotton waste is transformed into new garments.
