Trimethyl Pentanyl Diisobutyrate is a chemical substance that is also known by the names Propane-1,2,3-triyl trisheptanoate or 2,3-di(heptanoyloxy)propylheptanoate. This chemical compound can be found in a number of products, specifically in cosmetics and personal care professional products, most notably in nail polish. Due to its properties, it improves the spreadability and increases the gloss of nail polishes, helping to achieve their long durability and faster drying.
Recently, however, Trimethyl Pentanyl Diisobutyrate has also been used in medicine, where its trade name is Dojolvi. It is a drug that is used for the treatment of patients with long-term fat metabolism disorders. These disorders cause the body to be unable to convert fats into energy, resulting in a number of health complications, including frequent hypoglycemia. The benefit of this drug is that it allows the body to use alternative energy sources, thereby helping to better regulate blood sugar levels.
