Thyme (Thymus vulgaris)

Thyme, also known by the names matricaria dymiana, valerian, damask or thyme scented, is a traditional and popular type of spice used in gastronomy all over the world. The Latin name Thymus vulgaris refers to its wide use in the kitchen and also in medicine. This herb can be grown at home in a pot or in the garden as part of an herb garden. Thyme has a pleasant aroma that is stronger and spicier than most other aromatic herbs.
