Polyquaternium-7, also known by the names Silica, Silica or Dioxosilane, belongs to the polyquaternium group, consisting of many polymers that are highly effective in conditioning hair and skin. This substance is widely used in the cosmetic industry for its excellent conditioning properties, which allow it to perfectly smooth the surface of the hair or skin, giving it a youthful appearance and reducing static electricity.
Polyquaternium-7 is most commonly used in shampoos, conditioners, deodorants, shower gels, cleansing flours and other cosmetic and skin care products. Due to its binding properties, this substance is particularly useful for adding to hair products to help condition and control unruly hair and prevent frizz. The composition of this compound also allows it to be used in various skin care products, where it acts as a moisturizing agent that improves skin elasticity and prevents skin dryness. Polyquaternium-7 is also included in some toothpastes and mouthwashes, where it acts as an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory agent.
