Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, also known as Small Grain, is a popular and widely used ingredient in the manufacture of cosmetic and health care products. It is an emulsifier that is characterized by a high degree of biodegradability; in fact, it is made from vegetable oils. The polysaccharides and glycerol serving as the basis of this ingredient are derived from plant sources, making Small Grain a suitable ingredient for products designed for vegans and people who prefer natural cosmetics.
Thanks to its properties, Small Grain is used, for example, in face creams, body lotions, make-up or sunscreens, but also in hair products such as shampoos or conditioners.
