CI 75810 (Chlorophyll)

CI 75810, also known as Chlorophyll, Chlorophyllin, Chlorophyllin-Copper Complex, Spirit Solluble Chloryphyll or in the European Union as E140, is a green dye that is derived from plants. Specifically, it is produced from extracts of alfalfa, spinach or nettles. CI 75810 is approved for food use in a number of countries, including those in the European Union.

CI 75810 is mainly used as a food colouring agent, so it can be found in a wide range of products such as ice cream, confectionery, gummy candies, soft drinks, baked goods, dairy products and more. However, in addition to the food industry, CI 75810 is also used in cosmetics such as soaps, shampoos and various creams and lotions.
