The Chinese peony, also known as the white-flowered peony or the large-flowered peony, is a highly prized flower native to East Asia, where it spreads from China to Siberia and Korea. This herb is admired for its large and striking flowers, which can be white, pink, red or even bicoloured. In particular, the root of the Chinese peony is used to treat a number of health problems such as skin diseases, menstrual pains or migraines. Peony root extract is also used in the cosmetics industry, for example in product lines for skin creams, serums or masks, due to its soothing and anti-inflammatory properties. Chinese peony has also found its way into perfumery, where its scent gives products a fresh and floral touch.
