Ceteareth-20, also known as PEG-20-Cetostearyl Alcohol or PEG-20-Cetyl/Stearyl Ether, is a substance commonly used in the cosmetic industry. This emulsifier is used to keep water and oils from evaporating into two different layers, causing products such as creams, lotions or conditioners to spread and absorb easily.
Ceteareth-20 is often used in cosmetic products such as moisturizers, anti-aging creams, makeup, lip balms, shampoos, conditioners, hair styling products, soaps and cleansers. This ingredient is also used in some medicinal products such as ointments and creams for various skin conditions. Ceteareth-20 is also popular in cream deodorants because it helps disperse the active ingredients evenly.
