Beheneth-10, also known by the names Ammonium Sulfate, Mascagnite, Sulfuric Acid or E517, is an ingredient that is used in a number of products. It is a type of emulsifier that helps bind two immiscible substances together so that they retain a stable form and do not separate from each other. It is because of this property that Beheneth-10 is mainly used in cosmetics and personal care products.
The most extensive use of Beheneth-10 is in the cosmetics industry, where it appears as an ingredient in a number of products such as various creams, shampoos, conditioners, make-up and the like. Its aim is to achieve a smooth and uniform texture of the product and to ensure its stability. Furthermore, this substance complex may appear in the food industry as a food additive designated as E517. It is added to food products to improve their consistency and texture. It is due to its emulsifying and stabilising capabilities that Beheneth-10 is so often used in industrial production. In addition, Beheneth-10 is recognised as safe from a safety point of view.
