Argania spinosa (Argania spinosa)

The Arganeria thorn tree, also known as Moroccan gold, is a rare and unique tree that grows only in the southwestern part of Morocco, specifically in the area along the Atlantic coast known as the Arganeraie Biosphere Reserve. It is one of the oldest and most resilient tree species in the world, able to cope with extreme climatic conditions, including high temperatures, and can survive for up to 200 years. This tree is of great importance to the Moroccan population, not only because of its rarity and ability to survive, but also because of its versatile uses.

The fruit of the argan tree is used to produce argan oil, which, thanks to its composition and properties, is one of the most effective and valuable natural oils in the world. This oil, rich in essential fatty acids, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, is traditionally used in the diet, medicine and cosmetics of the Moroccan population. It is also used for the production of luxury cosmetic products such as creams, serums, masks, balms and shampoos. Argan oil is exceptional for its regenerative and moisturizing properties that improve the quality of skin, hair and nails. In the diet it is used for its unique nutty aroma and high vitamin E content, which supports the health of the heart, body and immune system. The residue of the fruit after the oil has been pressed is then used as cattle feed.
