Acetyl Triethyl Citrate, more commonly referred to as Triethyl 2-acetyl citrate, is a chemical ingredient often found in cosmetic products. Chemically, it is an ester of citric acid and ethanol and is especially valued for its properties as an emollient and plastic softener. It is a saturated transparent and viscous liquid with a faint characteristic odor and is readily soluble in many common organic solvents.
