About the Brand

Jean Patou founded his eponymous fashion house in 1914. He sought to liberate women from the restrictive clothing of the era, introducing dresses without corsets and shortening skirt lengths. He also created a sportswear line intended for both city and active wear, and began using a JP monogram on his products.

The Joy fragrance was created in response to the economic crisis of 1929. The Jean Patou fashion house itself was acquired by the LVMH group in 2018.
