About the Brand

LEGO Group was founded by Ole Kirk Kristiansen in 1932. The name LEGO was derived from the Danish words "leg godt", meaning "play well".

• The company remains owned by the Kirk Kristiansen family.
• The current form of the LEGO brick with its internal tube coupling system was introduced in 1958.
