About the Brand

The story of Jacomo began in New York in 1961 with a meeting between James Kaplan and Gérard Courtin. Its name combines the syllables JA from James, CO from Courtin and MO as a reference to the New York museum MoMA.

Gérard Courtin returned to France in 1965, where he developed the brand's perfumery side in Grasse in collaboration with local perfumers. In 1970, he opened a workshop at 45 Avenue George V in Paris, and the brand adopted the name Jacomo Paris. In 1981, a production facility was established in Deauville, Normandy.

Within less than a decade, Jacomo fragrances were being exported to more than 50 countries. The brand's fragrances are designed in Grasse by French perfumers and manufactured in Deauville, Normandy.
