Penhaligon's Empressa eau de parfum for women has a floral-fruity character, combining citrus, fruit, flowers, spices, woods and sweeter notes. About the Brand

The founder of the brand, William H. Penhaligon, came from the Penzance area in Cornwall. In 1869, he moved to London with his family and began working at the Hammam baths on Jermyn Street. A year later, he took over the barbershop there and expanded it with his own premises.

William Penhaligon created the brand's first fragrance, Hammam Bouquet, in 1872. Penhaligon's received its first Royal Warrant in 1903 from Queen Alexandra and a second in 1956 from the Duke of Edinburgh. In 2015, the brand became part of the Puig group.
