About the Brand

Ecoalf was founded in 2009 by Javier Goyeneche, and its name was inspired by the names of his sons Alfred and Álvaro. The original vision was to create recycled products with quality and design comparable to those made from non-recycled materials.

The first collection and the first flagship store in Madrid were launched in 2012 after three years of research and development. Ecoalf processes waste materials — including plastic bottles, discarded fishing nets and tyres — into new textiles.

In 2015, the Ecoalf Foundation was established to support the Upcycling the Oceans project. Working in collaboration with the fishing industry, it collects marine waste and processes it into yarns and fabrics. In 2018, Ecoalf became the first Spanish fashion company to receive B Corporation certification.

Behind the sweater is a brand with a long-term focus on recycled textiles and B Corporation certification.
