About the brand

The Ecoalf brand was founded by Javier Goyeneche in 2009. Its name and concept were inspired by the founder's sons Alfredo and Álvaro. The original vision was to reduce the thoughtless use of natural resources and to produce recycled products with quality and design comparable to non-recycled items.

The first collection was created in 2012 after three years of research and development. In the same year, the brand opened its first flagship store in Madrid. In 2015, the Ecoalf Foundation was established to support the Upcycling the Oceans project, which works with the fishing industry to collect marine waste and transform it into yarn and textiles.

In 2018, Ecoalf became the first Spanish fashion company to receive B Corp certification. In 2022, it received the B Corp Best for the World award and ranked among the top 5% of companies in the environmental category. It underwent its third B Corp certification in 2025 with a score of 122.7 points.
