About the brand

Ecoalf was founded by Javier Goyeneche in 2009. Its name is derived from the names of his sons Alfred and Álvaro. The original vision was to reduce the reckless use of natural resources and to create recycled products with quality and design comparable to non-recycled goods.

The first collection was developed after three years of research and development and was launched in 2012 alongside the first flagship store in Madrid. In 2015, the Ecoalf Foundation was established, supporting the Upcycling the Oceans project. This initiative works with the fishing industry to collect marine waste and process it into yarns and fabrics.

In 2018, the brand became the first Spanish fashion company to receive B Corp certification. In 2025, it successfully completed its third B Corp certification with a score of 122.7 points.

Behind the model stands a brand with a long history of developing recycled products and a foundation supporting the processing of marine waste.
